About Sara Carson
Sara Carson of Ontario Canada began her career at fifteen years old successfully running her own dog training facility for five years in her hometown of North Bay. During that time Sara expanded her knowledge teaching obedience, puppy foundations, tricks, and agility to the students who attended classes at her facility.
Sara is well known as one of the top international trick dog trainers in North America today. She has been nationally recognized for showcasing her achievements such as the CW Dog Honors 'top trick' award in 2020, The Great Mats 'Dog Trainer of the Year' in 2017. Her dogs have earned a multitude of working and sport titles such as agility, dock diving, barn hunt and tricks. She has also placed across the board in disc dog competitions and taught the art form of canine freestyle dance.
Sara and her Super Collie Hero had their first televised appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman blowing bubbles and continue to captivate audiences all over the world on the silver screen. She acquired her celebrity dog trainer status after placing fifth on the season twelve finale of America's Got Talent in 2017. Since then Sara and Hero have filmed 'A Genie's Tale' where Hero played Joe the main protagonist. Sara has also made an appearance as a judge on 'Puppy Bowl- The Summer Games' as well as additional titles into the Discovery+ series.
In 2013, Sara began working with her own service dog Hero while running a business training dogs for clients in Ontario. She quickly found her niche in teaching tricks and formulating simplified methods for teaching them to others. In the years following Sara applied these formulas while traveling in the U.S. with various stunt dog performance circuits. Her tricks would go beyond entertainment, however. Her need for Hero's medical assistance would inspire her to utilize these tricks, and transform them into tasks for Hero to perform day to day.
Partnering with a veteran service dog organization, Sara launched into a new arena training service dogs for veterans with various disabilities. Tricks became complex tasks for dogs, such as a Labrador who learned to care for a quadriplegic veteran who needed full time tasking and care. Holding a toy in the mouth then became object retrievals to the veteran's mouth, a nose touch provided a path to turning on and off light switches. Sara's ability to simplify her teaching methods allowed her to create a team of trainers who trained various dogs for veterans across the country.
Currently, she is living in Kentucky, USA. Her plans are to continue her adventures around the globe with her dogs, performing and teaching tricks to dog owners and their pups. Sara wrote an instructional book in 2022 called Super Dog Tricks on a shelf near you! She also runs the most functional and user friendly dog app on the market PUPPR
(available on Android or IOS).
